Political Administration, Anti-merger tribesmen on roads against KP-Fata merger

Political Administration’s Khasadar force personnel & tribal elders from the seven tribal agencies & six FRs attended the anti-merger rally to oppose KP – Fata merger.

Jamrud — The tribal resented merging of Federally Administer Tribal Area (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and demanded separate province for the tribesmen.

A grand jirga of tribal elders was held in Jamrud bazaar on Thursday that was attended by dozens of elites from seven tribal agencies and six Frontier Region (FRs) across the tribal belt.

Addressing on the occasion Malik Attaullah, Malik Waris Khan Afridi, Malik Khan Marjan, Malik Abdurrazaq, Haji Baz Gul, Ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F), the Khasadar’s Subedar Major, Coordinator FATA Supreme Council, Col (retd.) Inamullah said threatened that if the decision of merging of FATA was imposed against their willing they would have other option but to do self-immolation.

Interestingly, officials of the Khasadar force of Political Administration were participating in the anti-merger protest. Khasadar’s Subera Major Abdul Jalil Dawar was leading the government officials in the rally at Jamrud.

They were criticising ‘Thana and Patwar Culture’ and said it was not only contrasted with tribal rites but would leave more than 27,000 Khasadar jobless.

The speakers added that for the last one decade for the restoration of peace in FATA, hundreds of Khasadar force laid down their lives although introducing of the police system was equal to ignore their sacrifices that would be allowed.

They appreciated Maulana Fazal Rehman for supporting their stance and urged him to raise voice for their rights in the parliament and play an active role to block what they called demand of handful tribal, merging of FATA with KP.

The grand jirga also announced setting up of massive set-in to be scheduled on 23 December in Islamabad against Fata’s merger, which they called an anti-thana culture movement and asked the tribesmen to join it in greater number to show, they represent the majority in FATA.

The tribal jirga along Khasadar troops also took out protest rally at Bab-e-Khyber against imposing of Thana Culture in the tribal belt.
