Fata MPs stage sit-in in front of National Assembly for merger with KP

Fata’s parliamentarians demand immediate abolition of the British colonial era’s Frontier Crime Regulations (FCR) immediately and Fata’s merger with KP.

Islamabad — Tribal Area’s parliamentarians staged a sit-in in front of the Parliament House demanding Fata’s merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), here on Thursday.

Members of Parliament from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) including MNA Shahji Gul Afridi along with other MPs and political workers are demanding to mainstream and merge Fata with KP as per recommendations of the Fata Reforms Committee.

They demanded that jurisdiction of the Supreme Court and Peshawar High Court should be extended to the deprived tribal areas immediately.

The MPs also demand immediate abolition of the British colonial era’s Frontier Crime Regulations (FCR) immediately.

They flayed the government for delay in Fata Reforms. They said that the Fata Reforms should be passed from the Parliament immediately.
