Jamrud — Khyber Green Azmarey cricket club beat Kurram Goloona team in final match of 1st Fata Supper League (FSL) T20 Cricket Tournament played at Jamrud sport complex ground on Thursday.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP) Iqbal Zafar Jhgra was the chief guest on the occasion.
Besides thousands of local tribal people and sport lovers chief guest Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Iqbal Zafar Jhgra, Member of the National Assembly Shahjee Gul, Political Agent Khyber Khalid Mehmood and Assistant political Agent Jamrud Ziaurrehman Marwat witnessed the final game.
Prior to it, total of 24 teams across the tribal belt that had been divided in four groups, and each team comprises minimum nine players from FATA competed one another in 67 cricket games.
Khyber Green Azmarey and Kurram Goloona cricket teams qualified for the final after defeating its opponents. The cricket matches played at different venues including Kurram, Bajaur, South Waziristan and Khyber Agencies and the combat was continued for 10 days.
Before the start of the final match players of the both finalist teams were introduced to the chief guest.
Selecting batting first Kurram Goloona eleven scores 169 runs in 20 overs on the loss of eight wickets. Chasing the target Khyber Green Azmarey cricket club achieved the target in 19th over and won the final match.
Nisar Afridi of Khyber Green Azmarey declared Man of the Match by scoring 50 runs.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest Governor KP Iqbal Zafar Jhgra lauded efforts of organizers for setting up healthy activity and said that the tribal youths have extra-talent regarding the cricket game.
He announced for construction of shade and lightening system the installed in the sports complex.
At the end the chief guest distributed winning trophies and cash prizes to the winning teams and players.
